This is me, Valerie. I look super confident on this picture, but trust me, I’m more of an anxious goofball in person. Adulting is HARD!

Work

During the work day, I’m a translator. English to French. I’m a French Canadian, so it makes more sense to translate in my first language. Sounds more natural.

Mom life

Outside of work, I’m a mom of 2 mini-humans. My mommy skills include being caring, making lunches, giving the best mom hugs, and having mental breakdowns. My daughter lives with epilepsy, and my son most likely has ADHD.

I’m also a human…!

I’m also a metalhead, I love playing World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Minecraft, and I miiiiiiiissssss playing TF2. I drink way too much coffee for my own good. I am a crazy cat lady (let’s not mention how many cats I have), and I also have a Sausage Princess beagle. I have tattoos, and I will never have enough.

But most of all, I’m a grammar nerd. Obviously in French. My English has gotten better over the last few years, and it helps that my awesome BFF and boyfriend is from the Midwest.

Why should you trust me?

I know being an adult can be difficult sometimes. It doesn’t come with a manual. But I am here to help you; through my work, my experiences, and getting older, I learned important stuff that I will share with you. This blog is all about helping you figure out this “adulting” thing.

Also, I’ve just said it: I’m the mom of 2 kids, a 6 years old and a 5 years old. I’ve had my share of experiences with them, good ones, and bad ones. I’m here to tell you the things you need to know about being a parent.
